Rotoscoping
services.
Outsource roto to a team that treats every edge like it's going on a cinema screen. We cut clean, frame-accurate mattes for hair, motion blur, water and fine detail — AI-assisted for speed, finished by senior roto artists for accuracy.
Rotoscoping services
Clean edges,
every frame.
Rotoscoping is the most labour-heavy task in most VFX pipelines — and the one that quietly decides whether a comp holds up on the big screen. NVFX Studio has been cutting roto for feature films, episodic TV and streaming shows for over a decade, so your artists can spend their time on the shots only they can do.
Every shot starts with our proprietary AI first pass, which generates mattes and splines across the whole sequence. Senior roto artists then rebuild the edges that matter: soft hair, motion blur, overlapping limbs and the fine detail no model judges correctly. A supervisor checks every frame at 1:1 against the plate before delivery.
You get roto that behaves like your own team made it — consistent point counts, sensible shape breakdowns and your naming conventions — so notes are quick and shapes are easy to adjust downstream.
What we handle

- Roto prep for paint and cleanup
- High-volume episodic roto on tight schedules

Rotoscoping FAQ
Questions producers ask.
Do you deliver roto shapes or rendered mattes?
Both. We deliver editable Silhouette or Nuke roto shapes, rendered alpha mattes as EXR or DPX sequences, or both — whatever your comp team needs, in your naming convention.
How do you handle hair and motion blur?
Hair and flyaways get soft-edged, detail-level shapes, and motion blur is matched to the plate rather than faked with a blanket feather. Our AI first pass captures fine detail quickly; senior artists refine it by hand and a supervisor checks every frame.
Can your roto artists work inside our pipeline?
Yes. We follow your shape breakdown, point-count guidelines, naming conventions and delivery specs, so shapes drop straight into your comps and are easy to adjust after notes.
How is rotoscoping priced?
Rotoscoping is bid per shot, based on frame count and complexity — number of characters, hair, motion blur and edge detail. Quotes are free, and you can start with a test shot.
